Robbery

In 1999, a total of 3,034 robberies were reported by law enforcement agencies in Colorado.  This is a 4.8% decrease in robberies from 1998.   Robberies accounted for 6.6% of the major offenses reported.

A firearm was used in 941* or 37.4% of the robberies reported.

A knife or cutting instrument was used in 218* or 8.7% of the reported robberies.

Other dangerous weapons not specifically coded or fitting one of the other categories were used in 350* or 13.9% of the robberies.

Strong-arm tactics were responsible for 1,007* or 40.0% of the robberies.
