Burglary

In 1999, a total of 26,325 burglaries were reported by law enforcement agencies in Colorado.  This is a 13.0% decrease in burglaries from 1998.   Burglaries accounted for 57.5% of the major offenses reported.

Forced entry accounted for 14,650* or 57.3% of the burglaries

Non-forced entry accounted for 8,907* or 34.8% of the burglaries.

Attempted burglaries accounted for 2,025* or 7.9% of the burglaries.

*Does not include breakdown by force, non-force, or attempted burglaries for Ault P.D., Douglas County Sheriff, Johnstown P.D., Kersey P.D., Lone Tree P.D., and Wheat Ridge P.D.
