  • Robberies accounted for 7.8% of the major offenses reported.
    • A firearm was used in 1,352 or 40.4% of the reported robberies.
    • A knife or cutting instrument was used in 297 or 8.9% of the reported robberies.
    • Other dangerous weapons, not specifically coded or fitting one of the other categories, were used in 388 or 11.6% of the reported robberies.
    • Strong-arm tactics were responsible for 1,312 or 39.2% of the reported robberies.
